Forgotten Hope Tutorial Playlist (how to install and play)

Forgotten Hope 2 is an award-winning World War II modification for Battlefield 2TM and is based on the original Forgotten Hope, a modification for Battlefield 1942TM, one of the most popular multiplayer games ever. Battlefield 1942TM featured land, sea and air combat in a way never before seen. It was the goal of the development team to maximize the game experience by adding both a realistic and enjoyable gameplay to FH and now to FH2.

With the release of Electronic ArtsTM Battlefield 2TM, the development potential has increased a lot. An all-new game engine and physics system brings the battlefield to life like never before. The new material penetration feature measures weapons ability to fire through barriers based on their composition and players will need to know the difference between concealment and cover in order to survive. Immense, richly detailed environments from city streets to remote forests, brought to you with brilliant graphics are some of the more exciting features of Battlefield 2TM. And we are going to bring all this to the Second World War.

With over 250 new pieces of authentic equipment, with tanks such as the mighty German Tiger tank and the diminutive British Vickers light tank, aircraft from the famed American P-51 Mustang to the antiquated German Stuka dive-bomber, and weapons including the powerful German Panzerfaust and the fearsome American M-1 Garand rifle, Forgotten Hope 2 has a wider scope than any other Second World War First Person Shooter, ever!

Winston Churchill once said "It is a mistake to look too far ahead. Only one link in the chain of destiny can be handled at a time." But we do look far ahead. The end of our road has not changed, only the stops along the way. Forgotten Hope 2 currently concentrates the battles fought between Allied and Axis powers in the North African and Normandy theaters of operation.

You will be given the chance to take part in maybe the most important campaigns of World War II. Fight alongside Rommel's Africa Corps in the harsh climates of the North African desert as you attempt to break through the British lines at El Alamein, or hold off attacking forces at Tunis. Serve next to American forces as you seek to destroy Hitler's Atlantic Wall at the cliffs of Pointe du Hoc, or break out from the Norman countryside in Operation Cobra.

"The battle which is about to begin will be one of the most important battles in history. It will be the turning point of the war." But it will only be the end of the beginning for Forgotten Hope 2. We will be ever expanding the mod to all of the theaters its prequel currently occupies, and more.

Whatever the side you choose you will have an almost endless armory at your disposal. Your weaponry will reach from knives to heavy machine guns to anti-tank rifles. Your equipment will contain everything from the first aid kit to magnetic hollow charges. Your motor pool will offer any type of vehicle, whether you want to drive jeeps, APCs, or tanks, and your airfields will give you the chance to pilot scout planes, fighters, and heavy cargo planes.

Forgotten Hope 2 will also offer different gamemodes for different situations. In addition to the standard conquest maps Battlefield is famous for, you will also need to destroy or defend strategic targets in objective-mode, or take tactical positions in a set order in push mode.

So whether you like house to house fighting in Tunis, tank battles in the African desert or dogfights in skies over northern England, Forgotten Hope 2 will have something for you.

The First of its Kind

News

Hello and welcome back to another Forgotten Hope 2 update.

Today we are showing off the first major revision to the first major combat tank designed and built by Germany that saw combat in WW2.

Panzer I Ausf. B

In the aftermath of the First World War, the much reduced German army was forced to re-evaluate its tactics and strategies. One of the main learnings was that the army of the future would need to be mobile, and tanks would play a large role in this aim. The Versailles Treaty had placed a ban on the production and use of tanks by Germany, which meant that testing ideas for how to conduct armoured warfare had to be conducted first with dummy tanks, and then later in secret inside the Soviet Union.

With the take over of the Nazi Party, the Versailles Treaty was to be effectively ignored and tank development could increase in intensity. While the ultimate aim was to re-equip with the tanks that would eventually become the Panzer III and IV, it was eventually agreed that in the shorter term a lighter vehicle was needed. In 1933, designs from 5 manufacturers were evaluated, with Krupp's hull and Daimler Benz's superstructure and turret winning. Redesigned after the evaluation, the series 2 La.S. began to roll of the production lines in 1934. This would later be renamed the Panzer I Ausf.A.

With over 1000 examples being produced in 2 years, the shortcomings with the Ausf.A design rapidly became apparent. The 60hp Krupp air cooled engine was underpowered and prone to overheating. This was to be solved in the Ausf.B with the 100hp water cooled Maybach NL 38 Tr. To fit the larger engine the hull was lengthened, which allowed a change to the suspension. The idler wheels were moved up off the ground and a 5th road wheel added. The new tank was now more reliable, faster and less likely to break its tracks turning.

The Panzer I Ausf.B would serve in Spain, as well as Germany's invasions of Poland, Denmark, Norway, France and the Soviet Union. The survivors were largely removed from active combat by 1942, after which they performed policing duties or had their hulls re-purposed. In total, 399 Ausf.B were constructed with a further 147 hulls mated to Ausf.A turrets. Ours was made by Toddel and Matt Baker.

Good morning. I've been trying to download/install old maps and I can't, probably due to the latest updates: I ask if changes in the interface (?) caused this and if it would be difficult to solve. Thank you very much and for your attention.

the last update might have broken some maps because a lot of things were improved here and there.
So keeping old maps running are hard

Why not design support for BF2Statistics?
Or is there actually support for BF2Statistics?
If there is support, can you teach us?
If not supported,Why is there a server but it can achieve rankings?
such a great game, but can't get the server to rank, makes people feel very sorry.

If my computer can only install one game. I must choose Forgotten Hope 2. I am addicted to the fun of playing against computer players. From following Battlefield 1942 to Battlefield 2. You are so great! Thank you for your dedication and persistence👍.

Would it be possible to implement eviormental destruction for forgotten hope 2?

No, this is BF2 engine (2005).
There is only a limited amount of destruction: explosive barrel, barbwire, ...

DICE really started env destruction with Bad Company

What if the destruction was simply an animation for example if 1 side of a house is destroyed that wall simply converts to a model of the house without that wall same for the second and third but when the fourth wall is destroyed it switches to a model of rubble. I hope ive descibed what i mean well enough, but this would not technically be eviormental destruction but very close and give the same feel, dont know if this is/would be possible but its just a thought.

i'm no coder
but afaik, the main problem is for multiplayer because the destruction must be spread among the other players so it has a huge impact on the server and the players computers.
if something was possible, most of the mods would have done it imo.

in singleplayer, you don't have these kinds of limitations

A mod like that would still be incredible even if it was only for singleplayer
