Classic Doom transformed into a roguelike along with upgrades, stats and random surprises!
Hey, we're still working hard on this mod, so why don't you check out the Discord server? There's news, drunken banter and we can help you out with any issues you might have! We also have a Patreon and could use even a tiny bit of support - the real world's a tough place!
Doom Infinite is a single-player Doom-based FPS roguelike mod for GZDoom 4.8.2 or newer.
Requires Doom2.wad to run (DOOM II ON STEAM)
Doom Infinite is back - smoother, stronger and even harder than before! With over 160+ changes to the core systems it's even hard to describe what's new and improved.
You can choose from 20 unique Run Challenges in an attempt to unlock new content and finally prove to yourself just how badass your slaying skills are. Beware - none of them are easy. Wait, what did you think the word "challenging" meant?
Version highlights:
We took our sweet time with this one, didn't we? Well, that's because aside from the tangible changes in this version there's a lot rewrites and under-the-hood updates that will help us implement new advanced content faster and better. Remember that this is still a demo version with its basic Classic Mode as the core! Pretty soon we are going to expand into the epic, dark adventure of the timewarped Slayer and his endless struggle.
Thank you all for your support, patience and feedback! We will continue to struggle on and work hard on the best roguelike experience we can give you! You can track the progress or report any bugs via its Discord server and support it on Patreon.

You should make a patch so it can run on gameplay mods such as brutal doom
Don't worry man, you or community can make this but as difficultoldstuff said, it will take up long time to adapt things to it. Probably better wait until mod will be fully released and then create some gameplay mods
Nope, sorry, that won't happen.
There's a ton of work done to allow Doom Infinite be what it was intended, and making a "patch" of this magnitude would consume way too much resources and time. I spent 5+ years working on this project (which isn't even close to being complete), crafting systems, structures and smashing my head on a wall to break limitations to make it this far.
Sorry, but personally I have no interest of doing that...
Oh ok my bad
No worries, just clearing the air and trying to respond with some info! :)
better than doomrl imo
Every time I exit the game and open it, the autosave file doesn't keep any of my stats, current health, inventory, or progress. It only seems to save the soul doors I've unlocked. I had changed the auto-save settings to scripts only as per the issues section of the mod, and this still gives me the same result. This is frustrating as I can't seem to play through a run if I want to exit the game and take a break. Clearly I must be doing something wrong since I don't see any other comments on here complaining about the same issue.
Hey there, I'll try my best to help out. So if the config is OK and the Nerd Imp doesn't bitch about anything, that makes me thing about two things. Are you exiting the game on the intermission screen, when the message about it being possible pops up, or just wherever in the game? Also, what GZDoom version are you using to play it?
I'm exiting when it's not at the intermission screen. Also I'm using version 4.10.
Alright, so - it won't work that way. Partially GZDoom limitation (not all data we have during a normal gameplay map can be saved), partially permadeath mechanics. Try quitting the game once that green text and the save disc appears, it should work that way!
