The Bethesda.net distribution platform and Steam now are updated to run the game smoothly. Versions of Doom now come with the Bethesda Launcher that has the Unity ports of Ultimate Doom and Doom 2 (Doom and Doom 2: Unity Edition, see changes here). Unity ports of Doom and Doom 2 made for consoles and added them to the Bethesda launcher, making the 90s shooters run at 60fps with widescreen support and an add-ons menu via which you could download things like John Romero's Sigil in-game.
BDEE v19 comes with immersive camera effects to improve the overall feeling of using weapons and combat. Nearly all actions like firing, changing weapons, reloading, dual wielding, etc, now have an effect like pitching or tilting the screen like most modern FPSs. Every effect was carefully designed and implemented to make the camera follow the natural movement of each weapon.
Implemented new frames for the X12 shotgun left hand in the reloading and pumping animations, now the way the shotgun is holded is consistent.
Plasma blaster fire modes changed. Primary is a plasmaball auto shotgun, and secondary is a plasma flamethrower.

Do you want to know how to modify it or play mods with it? Theres about 25 years worth of information out there on making custom mods, but a good start is get Slade 3 and look at wads that your like playing and familiar with. That way as you see the scripting etc, its easier visualize what actually does within the game. The Zdoom wiki will the next place to go.
download the latest version of GZdoom, put a copy of doom in the GZdoom folder and download a mod then pull the mod over the GZdoom shortcut then choose which doom you want to play it on then your good to go

Seeing how Bethesda took down that Doom Remake Mod makes me worried that they might do the same with others.
I'd be super ****** off with the burning rage of the Sun if they took down Brutal Doom, Golden Souls, Total Chaos, Simon's Destiny, or QC:DE...

I think that "DOOM Remake" Mods are going to be the rule, rather than the exception. There's only a few reasons a company will DMCA a mod:
1)Overprotectiveness of their IPs (Nintendo, etc.)
2)A new game, akin to the remake that was taken down, is on it's way
The mods will just be uploaded somewhere else, by someone else, and I'll put money down that this is a sign of the latter, rather than the former.
