The aim of the INFANTRY MOD PROJECT is to turn Running With Rifles

into a more realistic visually & audibly engaging, believable third person tactical shooter,

introducing new game mechanics that respect the integrity of the original game while also being compatible with the official invasion servers.

INFANTRY MOD was originally first launched on Steam Workshop 11th February 2017 as version 1.0

Due to the nature of the mod overwriting vanilla game files and its shear size (in excess of 1GB uncompressed), this has caused much controversy on Steam Workshop and the Steam Workshop Terms of Service, very much so that i have been in private contact with Jack Mayol an RWR developer, he has allowed me to list the mod on Steam Workshop contrary to the terms of services interpretation which is very kind of him to do so.

The mod has simply grown so large now that i cannot feasibly host it on Steam Workshop and have decided to make ModDB the new home of INFANTRY MOD to further develop the mod and give its fans more power through customizability of what they want to download from the INFANTRY MOD PROJECT.

there was a peak of 14 players on one server today, which is indeed pretty rare without a scheduled event. But you have at least one player around almost all the time. This should change once the game is accessible as early access on Steam. This should happen before 2014.

i have had the demo of this game for the longest time *but for some reason, its uninstalled on my computer* but before i buy it, even tho the game is amazing for singleplayer, does anyone play Multiplayer?

even 15 bucks wouldn't be too much in my opinion if you consider the replay value, the multiplayer fun and all the stuff that will still be done until the final version.

Mostly there are 10ish dedicated servers up, a few in US East Coast, UK, Germany, Finland, and from time to time unorganized 6-10-player matches tend to emerge, the much I've been following it with Serverlist.modulaatio.com

The organized get-together events usually reach about 20 simultaneous players for about 2 hours.

A handful of people seem to be using this tool Modulaatio.com to track these matches, so they know when to be there.

so are there still alot of AI players in these matches? i imagine its not just 3 vs 3 with 20 AI on each team....

Yea, all servers have plenty of AI as well unless configured otherwise. Invasion servers force players to play on the same faction, while other servers allow PvP.

We tried nearly botless PvP in a 20-player match, it's pretty tight stuff. Just a handful of bots were there to help with temporary unbalanced teams. Would be great to have these up constantly.

I have been kinda lazy with buying this game lately but i am probably getting it this week, but before i buy it i wanted to know 2 things, 1. how does the stealth system work? do i crawl behind him and he detects me instantly or can i sneak up and melee him? and 2. i saw the Stealth trailer and there were only 2 guys in the beginning....is that something you can set where it is only you and your buddy?

1. When the area is not under alert, the AI will basically detect you only if you approach him from front or from sides, so yes, you can sneak up and stab him from behind.

You also lower your detectability by walking, being still, crouching and going prone; the more you trade off agility and movement, the harder it is to detect you. This affects the AI's range and sector of sight in relation to you, which is also affected by the time of day.

2. While we had the server specifically configured for the mission you see in the video, it could've happened in the usual gameplay too. You can, and many times should, attack the other bases by yourself or with your coop buddies while your AI is fighting at the main attack target.

Also it's these non-alerted bases where you tend to find the comms truck or the cargo truck. Destroying the comms truck disables the enemy's commander AI and reduces soldier capacity temporarily, stealing the cargo truck and taking it safely to your armory gives you a hefty resource point reward.

Anyway, yes, it is possible to set it up so that you practically have no AI in your faction by a simple mod. There's also this game mod(e) discussion on the forum Modulaatio.com , shame no one has yet made an attempt to set it up.
